    RIDACOM at the XVIII National Conference on Infectious Diseases, 15-17 October 2026щ, Arbanasi

    16.10.2026

    From 15 to 17 October 2026 we will join the conference of the Bulgarian Society of Infectious Diseases, which will take place at Park Hotel Sevastokrator in Arbanasi. There we will meet leading specialists in the field of infectious diseases, epidemiology and laboratory diagnostics.

    This year the scientific program focuses on current bacterial and viral infections - Clostridioides difficile, viral hepatitis, HIV, COVID-19 and influenza, as well as arboviral diseases and rare, diagnostically challenging cases.

    We will be there to present innovative technologies and diagnostic solutions for rapid and accurate detection of pathogens - both in everyday practice and in rarer infections and cases with atypical clinical presentation. Our portfolio covers solutions for general assessment close to the patient, for rapid orientation in difficult-to-clarify and atypical clinical picture, as well as for specific proof of the pathogen. All of them address the same clinical need - rapid narrowing of the differential diagnosis.

    Ozelle EHBT-50 - mini laboratory of the future

    The multifunctional analyzer offers a compact point-of-care solution and combines three main diagnostic directions. In suspected infection, it is the first sample that gives direction - leukocyte formula, inflammatory markers and organ function, before thinking of a specific pathogen:

    • Hematology - 7-DIFF CBM analysis with 41 CBC parameters for a more detailed assessment from the first sample.
    • Immunology - CRP, SAA, IL-6, PCT, as well as cardiologic, thyroid and infectious markers.
    • Biochemistry - indicators of renal and hepatic function, blood sugar and lipid profile.

    Compact and easy to use, Ozelle EHBT-50 works with individual test cartridges containing all necessary reagents, with no need for prior preparation. The system processes up to 10 samples per hour and uses from 30 to 100 μL of sample depending on the type of assay.

    AI-based morphological analysis supports automated recognition and standardized classification of cell populations, while real-time quality control ensures additional reliability of the results. Thus, the differential diagnosis in suspected infection is narrowed down from the very first sample.

    Novatrend Plus AFR-600 - rapid response when the clinical picture is unclear

    Complementary and rapid information when the clinical picture is unclear is provided by a compact analyzer for dry-type fluorescent immunoassay. The system works with test cartridges and europium-based fluorescent technology, performing quantitative and qualitative assays with objective readout of the result by the analyzer. Depending on the test, the result is ready in 3-15 minutes, and reading of the inserted cartridge takes less than 20 seconds.

    When the clinical picture does not give an unequivocal answer, results from appropriately selected biomarkers can add valuable information to the initial assessment:

    • CRP, PCT and IL-6 - in the assessment of the inflammatory response;
    • Troponin I, CK-MB and NT-proBNP - in the field of cardiac diagnostics;
    • D-dimer - as part of the assessment in suspected thromboembolic conditions;
    • HbA1c, TSH, FT3 and FT4 - in the follow-up of metabolic and endocrine conditions.

    Because in infections with atypical presentation, it is the deviations in these markers that point to the next step.

    In addition to the instrument solutions for general assessment, we will also show laboratory tests for direct and indirect proof of the infectious agent - ELISA, Real-Time PCR and rapid tests.

    ELISA - the serological view of infection

    For assessment of the immune response, ELISA assays allow determination of specific antibodies and - depending on the test - antigens in serum or plasma.

    We can offer solutions for serological diagnostics of various infectious diseases, including HDV IgM ELISA for determination of IgM antibodies against hepatitis D virus and Measles Virus IgM and IgG for diagnosis of measles.

    Real-Time PCR - direct detection of the pathogen

    For direct proof of the pathogen we will present our complete portfolio of Real-Time PCR solutions, including tests and multiplex panels for diagnosis of bacterial, viral and parasitic pathogens in respiratory, gastrointestinal and sexually transmitted infections, sepsis and meningitis. The variety of panels allows selection of the appropriate diagnostic approach according to the clinical picture and the sample type. These capabilities are directly related to the focuses of the scientific program - Clostridioides difficile infections, viral hepatitis, respiratory and vector-borne infections, where a similar clinical picture requires accurate etiological diagnostics.

    DTprime II - more diagnostic capabilities in one qPCR platform

    As a complement to the Real-Time PCR tests we will present DTprime II - a new-generation real-time PCR system combining high analytical accuracy, reliability and speed with extended functionality for qualitative and quantitative analysis. When the clinical picture points to more than one possible pathogen or coinfection is suspected, multiplex analysis allows simultaneous testing of several targets in one reaction. Autonomous operation, automatic report generation and LIS integration facilitate the transition from testing to result interpretation.

    Rapid tests: timely information guiding the diagnostic approach

    As the fastest level in this approach, for differential point-of-care diagnostics, the portfolio is complemented by selected rapid tests for detection of respiratory and gastrointestinal pathogens:

    • VBM13 Respiratory 13 Pathogen - simultaneous detection and differentiation of 13 viral and bacterial respiratory pathogens with result in up to 12 minutes.
    • Beright Bordetella pertussis - qualitative detection of the antigen of the causative agent of whooping cough in a nasopharyngeal sample in 15 minutes.
    • CRP & MxA Combo - two biomarkers from one sample, supporting differentiation between viral and bacterial respiratory infections.
    • OSOM Strep A - detection of group A streptococcal antigens in throat swab with result in 5 minutes.
    • Capilia Flu Neo - detection and differentiation of Influenza A and B antigens in 3-5 minutes.
    • NADAL Mononucleosis - detection of heterophile antibodies in blood, plasma or serum in 5 minutes.

    Gastrointestinal diagnostics

    • Simple Calprotectin - semi-quantitative determination of fecal calprotectin as an indicator of gastrointestinal inflammation.
    • NADAL C. difficile GDH Ag - rapid test for qualitative detection of GDH antigen of Clostridioides difficile in fecal samples with result in 10 minutes.

    We look forward to seeing you in Arbanasi!

    We will be happy to meet you from 15 to 17 October in Arbanasi, present our diagnostic solutions and discuss their application in everyday practice.
