MicroSwabs® -A practical source for micro-organisms! A MicroSwabs® consists of a lyophilized pellet of a micro-organism strain inside a pen-like device. This pen-like device contains a sterile swab and rehydration fluid to facilitate the transfer of the micro-organisms directly to culture media. Use MicroSwabs whenever a defined assay value is not needed. MicroSwabs® are manufactured and distributed in conformance with CE mark requirements for IVDs. Therefore they can be used for clinical and industrial applications.
The MicroSwabs® show several advantages which make them a great source for ATCC® derivates:
- Each lyophilized preparation is less than or equal to four passages from a reference culture.
- The pen-like MicroSwabs® are easy to use.
- They can be stored at 2 – 8° C.
- MicroSwabs® expire 12 month after production.
- More than 400 different strains are available, traceable to authentic ATCC® reference cultures.
- MicroSwabs® are sold in economical units of two.
- A certificate of analysis for yourQM documentation is included.
Our MicroSwabs® are easier to handle. And this for the following reasons:
- The rehydration fluid is stored inside a plastic reservoir, not inside a glass ampoule. To open this reservoir you simply break the red "snap" valve by bending it to a 45° angle.
- Our pellets do not contain gelatin. Therefore they dissolve very fast in the rehydration fluid.
- With the following simple actions you can inoculate your culture medium.
