NITROCEFIN - Diagnostic discs NITROCEFIN are designed for the rapid detection of β-lactamase enzyme in Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococcus spp., Haemophilus influenzae and anaerobic bacteria. Nitrocefin is a chromogenic cephalosporin that has been found to be effective in detection of all known β-lactamase enzymes. β-lactamase enzymes hydrolyse amide bonds in the β-lactam ring of nitrocefin resulting in a distinctive colour change from yellow to red.
Diagnostic discs MIKROLATEST® are discs of filter paper containing a defined concentration of a dehydrated reagent substrate for the detection of specific bacterial activity. They enable simple differentiation of bacteria by means of growth test directly on the culture medium.
