RIDA®QUICK Aflatoxin RQS ECO is a quantitative immunochromatographic test in strip format for the determination of aflatoxin in corn. Evaluation is performed by RIDA® SMART APP.
The test uses an aqueous extraction method.
General Information:
Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites produced by the fungi species Aspergillus flavus, parasiticus and nomius. Aflatoxins are highly toxic even in low concentrations. In addition, they belong to the strongest natural occurring carcinogenic substances.
In order to protect consumers against the harmful effects of aflatoxins, many countries specified limit values. According to regulation No. 1881/2006, the limit value in the EU is 4 µg/kg (total aflatoxin content). To ensure that the produced food does not exceed this limit value, regular analyses are necessary.
