HPV (Human Papillomavirus) are double-stranded DNA viruses of the Papilomaviridae family, classified by number types according to the order of their detection. More than 100 types of HPV are known, of which about 40 are associated with infections in the genital area.

HPV-QUANT-15® Quantitative Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is in vitro diagnostic medical device for specific detection, screening and quantitative determination of 15 HPV genotypes:

• low-risk HPV types 6 and 11 without differentiation
• high-risk HPV types 16, 31, 33, 35, 52, 58 without differentiation
• HPV types 18, 39, 45, 59 without differentiation
• HPV type 56
• HPV type 51
• HPV type 68

Samples are human biological materials: epithelial cell swabs, prostate fluid, ejaculate, urine and biopsy material.

- Control on the preanalytical stage ensured by the use of SIC (Sample Intake Control) – control for the quantity of sampling material (epithelial cells number)

- Absolute viral load determination, expressed as 10n

- Determination of HPV viral load per cell – biomarker for viral replication activity and the degree of viral transformation potency on the epithelial cells
